First Aid and Handling

FIRST AID: Although non-toxic, non-irritating and hypo-allergenic, Approach is for external use only. Safe for intact skin. Possible irritant if splashed in the eyes. Treat by flushing immediately with water. See physician if irritation continues.

HANDLING: Keep Approach out of reach of children. If spilled, wipe up or flush to any sewage or other disposal system.

STORAGE: Do not store where temperatures may exceed 130° F or where freezing may occur.

Lab Test Results

Toxicity studies have shown that Approach Odor Eliminator is Hypo-allergenic, non-toxic and non-irritating. These studies reported the following results:

1. On intact skin, a test area was treated with 0.5 ml of undiluted Approach and covered for 4 hours. Observations for dermal irritation and defects were made at 1, 24, 48 and 72 hours after removal of the dressings. Based on the scores through 72 hours, the primary irritation index for Approach was 0.0, with a descriptive rating of “non-irritating.”

2. In an eye irritation test, 0.1 ml of Approach was placed into the right eye. The treated eye was washed with room temperature de-ionized water for one minute immediately after recording the 24 hour observation. Based on the maximum irritation score of 0.0, Approach was rated “non-irritating.”

3. In a controlled sensitivity test, subjects were injected with Approach, followed one week later with a topical application on the skin. Two weeks later both the test and control subjects were again treated topically with Approach in a different location. 0% of the test subjects exhibited scores greater than 0.0 and Approach was given a sensitization potency rating of “non-sensitizer”.

4. An acute toxicity test was conducted on albino rats in which undiluted Approach was administered orally in doses of 5.12 ml/kg. None of the rats died and body weight was unaffected by the test. Moreover, there were no clinical signs of toxicity in any animals during the study nor were there any observable abnormalities.
